It’s official! Mission Point Press has agreed to publish my debut novel, Chasing Money. I’m thrilled beyond words. Join me on my publishing journey!

Over the past few weeks, Doug Weaver, my contact at Mission Point Press, walked me through every aspect of how we would work together, from the financials to the copy editing, cover design, and marketing. As a first-time author, I had lots of questions, which he was very helpful in resolving. We considered multiple options, made a few adjustments, and then I signed the contract.
Today I received my introductory letter from Mission Point Press, reproduced below with their permission.
Greetings, Michael:
Thank you for choosing Mission Point Press as your publishing partner. I am excited to get to know you and your project throughout this process!
I am the Production Manager for Mission Point Press. Although your team leader will be your primary contact, I am always here in the background working with the MPP team to manage logistics, schedules and other administrative key points to your project. You are always welcome to ask me questions at any time, and if needed I’ll pull in the right team member to assist with the answer.
In this email I wanted to introduce you to your team, and provide you with a few MPP extras.
Your team leader is Doug Weaver, who is also copied on this email. Your other team members include:
Hart Cauchy who will proofread your book after design.
Sarah Meiers who will be your designer.
Tricia Frey who will handle the marketing to bookstores and the press release.
Mission Point Press has a variety of author resources located on their website. You’ll find that throughout different stages of this project, you’ll be directed to many of these resource pages. The MPP Marketing Guide should help you begin thinking about the promotional side of your project, and at this time we also ask you to review the MPP Distribution Print on Demand (POD) program. Feel free to take your time perusing all of the resources available on this site. You may even like to bookmark this page.
Finally, please mark these important dates on your calendar:
On-Sale Date (to bookstores): 08/17/23
Release Date (to public): 09/14/23
Please let me know if you have any immediate questions that I may be able to help answer!
Warm Regards,
Leslie Bilbey
Production Manager
Mission Point Press
The most exciting part is that I now have a release date – on September 14, 2023, Chasing Money will be published!! [Note: We later moved the release date up to September 12, 2023]
Over the next few months, I’ll be working closely with Mission Point Press to bring my book to production. Check back in with me at the Thriller Writer’s Journal to learn more about my publishing schedule and how the process proceeds.
