My first beta reader feedback on Chasing Money came in today from Susan Nestor. She’s the friend of a friend, a voracious reader, and is really into thrillers and mysteries. She says:
“The quality of the writing is great. It’s on par with many published books I’ve read. You write in clean sentences with just enough descriptors to flesh out the scenes and characters without bogging down the reader. The characters are well-developed. My favorite characters are the protagonist (smart and funny), Nico (perfect, spoiled asshole), and the Russian (purely evil.) Your dialogue is stellar. Not only is it realistic, it helps to further define the characters. I think pace is incredibly important in a thriller and overall your pace is excellent. It only slows when the technical descriptions get a little long. Your book was a fun read and you are a great storyteller. This book could definitely spawn sequels.”
In areas for improvement, she mentioned shortening up some of the background information about the baron’s background and the Russian mafia.
This was very encouraging!
